Alpine cattle drive
at Hochegg – Schönberg – Lachtal on September 27, 2025
The cattle drive in the Lachtal is one of the biggest fall events in Styria, and especially in the Murau region. During this long-standing tradition, which always takes place on the last Saturday in September, the animals are herded down from the lush alpine pastures into the valley to spend the winter there.
9:30 a.m.: Arrival of the decorated alpine animals at Hochegg. The alpine farmers and their animals are welcomed by the Schönberg/Lachtal Music Association.
from 11.30 a.m.: thanksgiving service, beer tapping, concert, dance music and much more!
